Strokestown Golf Course

Strokestown Golf club was formed in 1995 and affiliated to the GUI in the same year. In 2001 the club moved to its present location, which is one of the most scenic parkland club's in the West of Ireland.

The Golf Club is situated about 2km east of Strokestown and about 20km west of Longford, in the townland of Bumlin, along the N5 Dublin- Westport primary route.

Ros Cup

Fantastic achievement by our ladies who won the Ros cup in Carrick last Saturday.  Our team was Brid Connellan, Sarah Collins, Eileen Lyons, Fidelma Power, Anne Neary, Helena King and Zoe McDermott. They competed against Carrick-on-Shannon, Boyle, Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon and Castlerea. Competition consisted of an 18 hole stableford round with the best 5 scores from the team to count. It really was a wonderful result for Strokestown and great to see some silverware come to the Club.

VW Competition

Thanks to everyone for helping with the VW competition. It looks likes that we should clear 4000.  Special thanks to Peter Hanley efforts were acknowledged and Brid Connellan for their efforts with the competition.  Members who availed of the 1st prize stated how well they were looked after by VW in Powerscourt.
